Retrieving Historical Data
The Global Baseball API serves up to three seasons per competition: the current season and the two before it. Within that window, completed seasons and games retain their full detail: schedules, line scores, statistics, play-by-play timelines, standings, brackets, and probabilities.
Use Competition Seasons (or the all-competition Seasons feed) to see what is available before requesting data from other feeds. The MLB response, in full:

Completed games can still receive corrections, and statistics settle in the minutes after a game closes. Sport Events Updated reports these revisions across a rolling 24-hour window, so a store of past results stays consistent by polling it rather than re-pulling seasons; see Monitoring Data Changes.
Data Accessibility
Every season-scoped and game-scoped feed reaches any season in the window; there is no separate historical API. These feeds include:
- Season Summaries: every game of a past season with results and statistics
- Season Standings: final tables, including the
roundparameter for the table as it stood earlier in the season - Season Competitors and Season Players: who took part
- Season Links: completed cup brackets
- Sport Event Summary, Sport Event Timeline, and Sport Event Lineups: full per-game detail, including the complete play-by-play stream
- Season Probabilities and Timeline Probabilities: pre-match markets and full probability curves for completed games (see Tracking Win Probabilities)
Past Dates
Daily Summaries reaches any past date in the window directly. A completed game from the previous day's slate, pulled by its UTC date:

A closed game keeps everything it accumulated: this game's timeline still returns all 1,121 play-by-play events, and its probability timeline all 764 points. Completed cup seasons keep their structure too: the World Baseball Classic 2026, finished in March, still returns its pool standings and full knockout bracket through Season Standings and Season Links; see Tracking Standings.
