US League APIs – Push Catchup

Push sessions can now be resumed after a disconnect in our MLB API, NFL API, NCAA Football API, UFL API, NBA API, WNBA API, NCAA Men's Basketball API, NCAA Women's Basketball API, NBA G League API, NHL API, and Golf API. A new optional resumeSessionId query parameter on the subscribe request replays the messages missed in the last 10 minutes, then continues the live stream. It applies to every Push feed of these APIs.

• resumeSessionId: the sessionId from the 302 redirect that answered the original subscribe request. Send it on a new subscribe request, with the same feed and filter parameters, within 10 minutes of the last message delivered on the session. A fresh token and redirect come back.

⭐ Benefit

Recover from a dropped connection without a full RESTful re-sync: the stream replays what you missed, up to 5,000 messages or 30 seconds, and then continues live.

📋 Recommended Actions

• Capture sessionId from the Location header of the subscribe redirect (or from the final URL if your client follows redirects) and keep it for the life of the session.
• On a disconnect, resubscribe with resumeSessionId and the same parameters; do not reuse the old token.
• De-duplicate on your side: delivery is at-least-once, so a resume can repeat a few messages around the reconnect point.
• After the window, or if any parameter differs, the request opens a new session with no replay and no error; use the RESTful feeds to recover anything older.
