NBA API – Push Clock Game Feed

We've added a new Push feed, Push Game Clock, to our NBA API. This feed streams a true running clock for live NBA games — messages flow continuously, not only on game events.

Simulations support is coming soon.

Push Game Clock is intended to replace the existing Push Clock feed over time. Both run in parallel for now so you can migrate at your own pace. Push Clock remains available during this period.

Drive a ticking game-clock display in your UI directly from a Push message cadence, without interpolating between event-driven updates — including real-time detection of when the clock starts and stops.

📋 Recommended Actions

Open a connection to the new Push Game Clock endpoint (/stream/en/game_clock/subscribe) for any live NBA clock display. The feed emits continuously while a game is live, so your UI can tick in step with messages rather than being driven by a local timer.
Watch clocks.running for start/stop transitions, clocks.game for the game clock, clocks.game_decimal for sub-second precision (useful in the final minute of a period and during free throws), and clocks.shot for the shot clock.
If you currently use Push Clock to drive a live clock display, plan to migrate to Push Game Clock. Both feeds run in parallel for now — Push Clock is intended to be replaced.
