Images API – New Soccer and NASCAR Headshots
We've expanded our Getty Images-powered player headshot coverage to the following sports and competitions:
- Major League Soccer (MLS)
- National Women's Soccer League (NWSL)
- UEFA Men's Soccer
- UEFA Women's Soccer
- NASCAR (all three series)
These are Media Day Headshots, captured during each league's official media day sessions. They are available through the existing Images API structure. No new integration is required.
Each asset is mapped to Sportradar player and team IDs to support easier association across existing customer implementations.
Media Day Headshots may be unavailable for certain teams or players. Participation is at the discretion of each team and player, so coverage can vary.
🖼️ Supported formats
The expanded coverage supports:
- JPG
- PNG with transparent background (ideal for overlays and composited graphics)
📐 Supported sizes
Assets are available in over 25 image sizes, consistent with the existing Images API delivery model.
📋 Recommended Actions
- Review the newly supported properties (MLS, NWSL, UEFA Men's & Women's Soccer, NASCAR) and identify which apply to your implementation.
- Retrieve the Player Manifest for a supported property to confirm the new headshots resolve to your existing Sportradar player and team IDs.
- Choose the appropriate format and size for your surface — JPG, or transparent PNG for overlays and composited graphics.
